Please consult the syllabus, which is online.
If you are curious, the Ombud sent the faculty a
long list of the required material that is supposed
to be in the syllabus (I scanned the original, which fits on 2 sides of a
piece of paper).
I have places a long set of transparencies online.
This is based on a minicourse that I taught in 1992 at LNCC in Rio de
Janeiro.
This is just one approach to multigrid.
The theory that will be in the lectures is based out of papers that appeared
in SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis.
The assignments will be online, too. Many of the assignments will be from the
text. Below is a cumulative list of what has been assigned and when they are
or were due:
| Assignment | Weight | Due | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | February 5 and 17 | a1.html |
| 2 | 1 | March 5 | a2.html |
| 3 | 1 | March 24 | a3.html |
| 4 | 1 | March 26 | a4.html |
| 5 | 2 | April 16 | a5.html |
| 6 | 2 | April 30 | a6.html |
