This is a direct result of the building being closed due to an unexpected letter bomb exploding here last Thursday morning. The building finally re-opened and things will get back to normal shortly. Please have patience. ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1993 14:21:62 -0400 From: douglas-craig@cs.yale.edu ("Craig C. Contact either Piet Hemker (piet@cwi.nl) or Piet Wesseling (witawes@dutinfh.tudelft.nl) for more information. Conference details, including the lecture titles and times, are contained in mgnet/conferences/euromg93.*. If you are referring to a preprint, a ------------- research report number maybe associated with the paper, which is the right citation. If you want to specifically cite MGNet, something like one of the following will work: @techreport{CCDouglas_TR_MADPACK2, author = "C. C. Douglas", title = "MADPACK (Version 2) Users' Guide", institution= "IBM Research Division", address = "Yorktown Heights, New York", number = "16169", year = "1990", note = "The most up to date source code is available through anonymous ftp from casper.cs.yale.edu in the directory mgnet/madpack2. } @article{CCDouglas_92c, author = "C. C. Douglas", title = "{MGNet}: a multigrid and domain decomposition network", journal = "ACM SIGNUM Newsletter", volume = "27", year = "1992", pages = "2--8" } As for the Sixth Copper Mountain Multigrid Conference papers, Duan Melson writes, I would refer to them as papers from the Proceedings of the 6th Copper Mountain Conference on Multigrid Methods, to be published as a NASA CP. (I have no idea what a CP is either.) ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 2 Jun 93 18:09:46 +0100 From: Bouabdallah Sebti Subject: Parallel multigrid software wanted Hello, I'm Sebti Bouabdallah, I'm working on Multigrid methods for parabolic problems, with Prof. Jean Francois Maitre, at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France. Next September, the researh group of Lyon St-Etienne will receive a parallel machine from Intel (Paragon), so I'll do a parallel implementation of the method, but I don't know how to do it? I would be very grateful, if you send me software package(s) on parallel implementation of Multigrid methods for parabolic or elliptic problems, and thank you very much. Best Regards S.BOUABDALLAH Editor's Note: A copy for MGNet would be nice, too. ------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 17 Jun 93 10:21:55 EDT From: dommer462%cpva.span@Sdsc.Edu Subject: CM5 multigrid Dear CM-5 users, We are converting a 3-d multigrid code to the CM-5. The code is used to solve Poisson's equation in a mapped coordinate system. The general form of the equation is: Pxx + Pyy + A Pzz + B Pz + C Pxz + D Pyz = S , where P is the potential; A,B,C, and D are spatially varying coefficients; and S is a source term. We solve a mixed Dirichlet and Neumann problem and a pure Neumann problem with a solvability condition. The code uses a simple V-cycle. We have used this code to simulate unsteady turbulent free-surface flows with O(100**3) grid points on a Cray Y-MP. We are planning to perform larger simulations on the CM-5 with O(250**3) grid points. We are interested in contacting researchers who have implementedd a 3-d multigrid code on the CM-5 that is capable of solving very large problems very efficiently. Who can we contact that is working in this area? If you have example pieces of code that solve a 3-d Poisson's equation on a regular grid, you would make my day! Douglas Dommermuth dommer462%cpva.span@sds.sdsc.edu (619)546-6911 Editor's Note: A copy for MGNet would still be appreciated. ------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1993 12:59:42 -0400 From: douglas-craig@cs.yale.edu ("Craig C.
